If you have followed our website for any amount of time, you know we love pumpkin recipes. These pumpkin hand pies are so simple to make and will quickly become a family favorite. We made these with store-bought pie crust to save time, but you can easily make your own if you like. We have made them with our homemade pie crust and they were delicious either way. The true winner.. we bake them! So no mess in the kitchen!
Do You Need The Glaze?
We top these with cinnamon and then bake them and they are delicious right out of the oven. We did add a basic powdered sugar glaze, and everyone loved them. Of course, you could just top with whipped cream or Cool Whip and enjoy just like a pumpkin pie!
A Few Tips
You don’t want to overfill them because they will leak out, so even if you think you are not adding much filling, it will be more than you think. We recommend 1-2 tablespoons depending on how large you make each hand pie. Don’t forget to crimp the edges!

Baked Pumpkin Hand Pies
These Baked Pumpkin Hand Pies have a flaky golden crust filled with a delicious spiced pumpkin filling. They’re easy to make, baked in the oven, and perfect for fall gatherings or Thanksgiving.
Pie Filling:
- 3/4 cup 100% canned pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Powdered Sugar Glaze – Optional
- 1 cup white powdered sugar
- 3 to 4 tablespoons milk I use 2%
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Mix all pie filling ingredients together with a spoon.

Roll out dough and using a 5 inch round bowl make the round pies. Place on baking sheet on parchment paper.

Add about a tablespoon of filling to each pie.

Fold rounds over filling and crimp with a fork. Brush each pie with egg yolk. Can sprinkle on extra cinnamon.

Bake in preheated 375 degree oven 20 to 25 minutes until brown on tops. Makes 10 to 12 pies.
Can make them larger or smaller.
