Lenovo Expands Aura Edition Lineup with ThinkPad X9 14 and 15, Featuring The Latest Intel Core Ultra Processors

Lenovo launched the ThinkPad X9 14 and X9 15 Aura Edition at CES 2025, introducing the latest generation of its premium business laptops. These Copilot+ PCs, powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors with integrated graphics, feature personalized AI-enabled experiences in a sleek design.
Lenovo unveiled its first Aura Edition laptops at IFA 2024, a premium line of laptops developed in collaboration with Intel that integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features to enhance user experience, productivity, and system performance.
The Aura Edition lineup includes models such as the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition and the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, which were awarded one of our Ubergizmo’s Best of IFA 2024 awards.

Industrial Design: Sleek, Durable and Easily Repairable

The ThinkPad X9 14 and 15 Aura Editions continue Lenovo’s pursuit of high-performance devices that blend form and function. Crafted with a sleek and ultra-slim profile, the chassis is made from 50% recycled aluminum, underscoring Lenovo’s commitment to sustainability. The laptops are MIL-SPEC 810H tested, ensuring durability while maintaining their lightweight build, making them ideal for hybrid work.

A standout feature of the X9 series is the new engine hub design, which houses critical components in a streamlined section. This innovative approach not only optimizes cooling and performance but also simplifies repairs. Users can easily access components like the battery or SSD through the bottom cover, enhancing serviceability and extending device longevity.

While the iconic red trackball has been removed, the keyboard integrates ThinkPad’s signature typing experience with a modern touch. The keyboard offers precise tactile feedback and a large haptic touchpad that enhances navigation. Designed to support extended work sessions, the ThinkPad X9 features an 8MP high-definition camera with a smartphone-quality sensor for video conferencing. The laptops feature OLED displays that offer deep blacks and vivid colors, available in both touch and non-touch configurations. Lenovo AI Now, built on Meta’s Llama 3.0, processes data locally to maintain privacy while delivering real-time AI capabilities. Aura Edition Smart Features for Productivity

Smart Modes, introduced in September 2024 as part of the Lenovo Aura Edition lineup, are also featured in the ThinkPad X9 series. These modes allow users to switch between optimized configurations tailored for security, collaboration, performance, and wellness. Smart Share facilitates seamless photo transfers across Android and iOS devices, enhancing cross-platform integration. Additionally, Smart Care provides real-time diagnostics and access to Lenovo’s support services, ensuring continuous productivity and device health.

The ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition laptops will be available starting February 2025, the 14 will start at $1399 and the 15 is expected to be priced at $1549.
