If there’s one thing that’s been great about Marvel’s perseverance in media, its that they make killer collectibles. It’s been over 16 years since Robert Downey Jr. kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the first Iron Man film back in 2008. And over that time, so many awesome and intricately designed characters have donned the screen. Of which was a whole slew of Iron Man suits, perhaps the coolest being the Hulkbuster suit. Well, LEGO has a sick building set inspired by this goliath and right now it’s the lowest price its been in 30 days. That’s right, you can get it for 45% off which equates to a $250 discount — bringing the price down to just $300.
Hulkbuster first showed up in the MCU in 2015 during Avengers: Age of Ultron. As Bruce Banner had not yet gotten a handle on controlling when he “Hulks out,” Tony Stark dons this giant suit of Iron Man armor that was created as means to restrain the Hulk, fill runtime, and sell toys to children and adult collectors. That’s you! It later returned in Avengers: Infinity War now piloted by Banner after Hulk wouldn’t come out in a fun subversion of its first appearance.
Capturing the Scale and Power of the Hulkbuster
This massive Lego set is comprised of 4,049 pieces and has a high attention to detail. The suit features three light-up arc reactors with one in the chest and two more in the left and right hands. The upper body is full jointed and the cockpit even opens up. A tiny Tony Stark carrying tools comes with the set along with an information plate, but the cockpit isn’t for him. No, that’s for the 381-piece and 24-cm-tall Iron Man figure sold separately. That’s about the size of a Bionicle (remember those?). The Hulkbuster itself comes in at a staggeringly high 20.5 inches.
This Lego Hulkbuster makes for a lovely conversation starter if you choose to keep it on display on a shelf in your living room or any entertainment area for when guests come to hang. Holidays are also quickly approaching. Could make a wonderful gift for the Marvel super fan in your life. Perfect for model-making Marvel enthusiasts.
Now it’s no secret that Lego sets ain’t cheap — especially the massive licensed ones. That’s why deals like this are something to keep an eye out for as they are the best time to scoop up these collectibles. The full price of the Lego Marvel Hulkbuster is $550. With the limited time 45% discount, you can get it for significantly less at just $300.
