Samsung’s New Mixed-Reality Device May Signal Return To AR/VR Market

Samsung is reportedly working on a new AR/VR device, marking its re-entry into the market after the Gear VR. While the company has been quiet about specifics, recent reports shed light on its plans. Initially, Samsung intended to launch the device in Q1 2024 to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro, but the release has been delayed, with a potential developer version now expected in late 2024. The most likely release date appears to be 2025, according to Samsung’s latest earnings report.

Details about the device’s design and specifications remain sparse. However, it’s known that Samsung is collaborating with Google on the software and Qualcomm for the chipset.
