❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

Well, we love how easy it is. You just throw the chicken in the crock pot, and while it cooks, make up your sauce, and you are set. We also love this white sauce, which has a mayonnaise and vinegar base, and it is creamy and delicious. This is a simple recipe and great for any spring/summer gathering. You can make this up, have the sauce on the side, and make a sandwich whenever you are ready. I will share some sides below, but add a bag of chips and you have an easy meal.

SWAPS & HEALTHY HACKS

You can swap out the mayonnaise and use a low fat or fat free version. Yes, it will change the taste of the sauce. You can also use greek yogurt in place of the mayonnaise and it will probably still be good, but thicker. I haven’t tried a sugar substitute but see no reason why you can’t. Like any changes to a recipe, you have to work with the seasonings to get the taste you are looking for when you make changes.

IDEAS

Yes, once the chicken is cooked you can add the sauce to the chicken and let it mingle together or you can just top the chicken with it once you make the sandwich. Personally we like to add the sauce to the sandwich, so we can add as much as we like .

⭐TIP

You can use any shredded chicken in this recipe. If you like dark meat, use boneless chicken thighs. If you want to save on time, buy rotisserie chicken and just make the sauce. We also love these sandwiches topped with red onion and pickles. This chicken would also be great in a wrap, with lettuce and covered in the sauce. Very versatile recipe.

• 2 lbs-2.5lbs of skinless boneless chicken breasts
• 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
• 1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
• 1/2 teaspoon of Liquid Smoke
• Salt and Pepper to taste
• 1/2 cup of chicken broth or stock

Alabama White Sauce Ingredients

• 1 cup of mayonnaise
• 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
• 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
• 2 1/2 teaspoons of white or brown sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon of salt
• 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
• 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne

Alabama White Sauce Instructions

• Wisk all ingredients together and chill for 1 hour. This makes around 1.5 cups of white sauce.

• Serve chicken on hamburger buns, top with pickles and red onions, and pour white sauce over the top. This should make 6-8 sandwiches.

You can use any chicken you like, if you prefer dark meat, just use boneless chicken thighs. 
For a quicker way to make this, you can just use rotisserie chicken and make the sauce.
